Meetings

Lurno does not host meetings and has no meeting scheduler. What it has is three embed block types — Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet — that put a link to a session you created in your own video tool into the flow of a lesson. That is the whole feature.

What this does

A Zoom, Teams, or Meet block stores one thing: the meeting URL. Lurno reads the meeting ID (or, for Google Meet, the meeting code) out of the URL and shows it back to you so you can confirm you pasted the right link. Learners reach the session from the block inside the lesson.

There is no scheduling, no calendar entry, no reminder, and no attendance tracking attached to these blocks. If you need a date to drive when material appears, that’s the scheduling module’s job and it works on modules, not on meeting links — see Schedules and release windows.

Before you start

Create the meeting in Zoom, Teams, or Meet first and copy its join URL. Lurno has no way to create one.
Decide where in the lesson the session should sit.

Add a meeting link

Open the lesson in the lesson editor. See Building a course.
Choose Add block, go to the Create New tab, and open the Embeds category.
Pick Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
Paste the join URL into the single field — Zoom Meeting URL, Teams Meeting URL, or Google Meet URL.
Confirm the small summary card that appears underneath. It shows the detected meeting ID (Zoom, Teams) or meeting code (Google Meet), plus an icon that opens the link in a new tab so you can test it.

The block has no title, description, date, time, or duration field. If you want to announce when the session happens, put that in a Rich Text block next to it.

For a service that isn’t one of the three, use the generic Embed block in the same category and paste its URL.

What learners see

In the learner player the block renders as an embedded frame with an Open original link underneath it. In practice Zoom and Teams refuse to be displayed inside another page, so the Open original link is how people actually join — it opens the session in their video tool.

Your own Preview lesson / Preview module in the editor uses a different renderer: it shows a small card with the detected meeting ID or code and a Join Meeting button, not a frame. Both routes open the same URL, so the preview is a fair test of the link even though it doesn’t look like the learner’s view.

Like every other block, it is only visible once the lesson, its module, and the program are all published, and once any release rule on that module has opened.

The Events app is not this. A program’s left rail offers Add App → Events, but that app is a placeholder: it renders a card saying events scheduling is still to come, and nothing more. It does not schedule anything, and it is not where meeting links go.

Restricting which domains can be framed. Org settings → Embed domains lets someone who can update the organization list the hosts allowed to appear as an inline frame in the learner player. Leave it empty and any https embed is framed; add one domain and only that list is framed from then on. Known video providers (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom) are always allowed, and blocked embeds still show their Open original link.

Troubleshooting

The detected meeting ID is blank. Lurno only recognises the standard URL shapes above. A vanity link, a personal-room alias, or a shortened URL still works as a link — the ID line just won’t show.

Learners see “This embed isn’t from an allowed domain.” Your organization has an embed-domain allowlist that doesn’t include the meeting host. Fix it yourself at Org settings → Embed domains: add zoom.us, teams.microsoft.com, or meet.google.com as appropriate. An empty list means no restriction at all. Learners can still use Open original in the meantime.

Nothing renders in the frame, only the link. Expected. Zoom and Teams block being embedded in another site. The Open original link is the intended path.

The link is expired or wrong. The URL comes from your video tool, not from Lurno. Recurring meetings sometimes rotate their link — re-copy the current join URL and paste it over the old one.

You want the session on a schedule. There is no per-block scheduling. Put the meeting block in a module and schedule the module’s release instead.
